What We Believe

Struthers Memorial church is an Independent Pentecostal Fellowship founded in the early 1950’s.  It has grown from a small house group of less than a dozen people based in the town of Greenock in the West of Scotland to a group of churches with branches in Scotland, England and Wales.

We believe in:

  • We believe in the Bible as the word of God being eternal, true and life-giving
  • We believe in the triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ: that on earth He was God incarnate
  • We believe in Christ’s atoning death, His resurrection and ascension
  • We believe in the fall of man and the necessity of redemption through personal faith in Jesus Christ
  • We believe in the personality and power of the Holy Spirit and in man’s need for the baptism in the Holy Spirit
  • We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit referred to in 1 Corinthians 12 verses 8-10
  • We believe in the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ ​

Our aim:  The extension of the Kingdom of God in obedience to His will and direction, and the fulfillment of His purposes in our individual lives.

New Year Word

In the early years of Struthers Church, the word was given by God to Miss Elizabeth Taylor, co-founder of the Struthers Group of Churches.  In later years, the word came through the late minister of the Glasgow Church, Miss Mary Black.  In 2002 and later years, the Word was given by Mrs. Grace Gault.

Below is the Word which was given at the beginning of January 2024 at our New Year Conference:
