Thought for the Week - 12th April
Pastor Gareth WatkinsIsaiah 53: 11-12
We read that Jesus’ resurrection and accomplishment was foretold by Isaiah as well as others in the old testament. Jesus had accomplished all that God had planned for Him. He made it possible that we can be counted righteous, when otherwise we would be lost in our transgressions, lost in our sin.
When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied… Can you imagine Christ being satisfied over you? Satisfied that your life has entered into the kingdom of God, having atoned for you on the cross. The Son of God, who exposed Himself to death, killed like a common criminal so that we may be counted righteous, is satisfied by His accomplishment.
This was part of God’s plan, that Jesus would identify with man, live a perfect man, die a perfect man, and be resurrected, satisfied by all He had accomplished.
As was foretold, this was God’s plan for our salvation, to intercede for rebels and bare all sin so that you can be made righteous in Him. Jesus, a perfect man, placed among sinners and rebels, satisfied by His accomplishment, in His death, to pay the price for your sin and salvation.
You are part of God’s creation today, and God honours His son and His accomplishment on His behalf. If you believe and have given Him your sins to forgive, then you are part of the accomplishment that Christ looks upon, satisfied by what He sees.
As said in some well-known song lyrics “There was no other good enough to pay the price of sin, it is only He that can unlock the gates of Heaven and let us in’’.
Would you hand all your sins over to Christ today? Would you lay your all upon His breast, and trust in His redeeming blood? As you do, God will honour His Son as He brings the redeemed from this earth into His Kingly Realm. Praise God that when Jesus rose from the dead, He broke the power of sin and death.
Amen.
Beautiful word. I loved reading it. Thank you for sharing.
